Building Legacy on the Wreckage
Stanford GSB alumna. ex-McKinsey Director. Mother of three. Survivor of unimaginable loss. Creator of The Steeled Protocol, a seven-pillar framework for rebuilding after catastrophe.
In January 2016, my husband Jeff jumped from the Transamerica building in San Francisco. Five years later, my eldest son Grant was murdered. I had every reason to collapse. Instead, I built a system. The Steeled Protocol is seven pillars of daily practice that kept me standing when the ground kept disappearing. Now I teach others how to do the same.
Keynote Speaking
Jennifer delivers two signature keynotes for corporate and professional audiences: “Unbound” and “Building Legacy on the Wreckage.” Both draw from her experience surviving suicide loss, building after being defrauded of life insurance, finding sobriety, and living again after the murder of her son. She offers stories, life changing moments, setbacks and setups, to offer audiences a framework they can use immediately to begin the life journey of building their legacy after the wreckage.
The Podcast
The Steeled Protocol podcast features conversations with people who have survived the unsurvivable and built something meaningful from the wreckage. Real stories, real frameworks, no platitudes.
The Book
What To Build Next is Jennifer’s forthcoming memoir and framework book. Part devastating story, part operational manual for not just surviving catastrophic loss and trauma, but realizing Post Traumatic Growth and the supernatural capabilities it equips us with to build legacy. I lost my husband to suicide and my eldest son to murder. I got sober in Marin County, earned my MBA at Stanford, and raised three children through the fire. Today I speak, write, and host a podcast to help others build something unbreakable from what remains. It is possible to build a legacy from the wreckage and find joy in the moment.
